Terms of Service

The terms for using Ottiwise, for parents and guardians and the children who learn with it.

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you, the parent or guardian who creates an Ottiwise account, and Ottiwise ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Ottiwise, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your and your child's data.

Who can use Ottiwise

  • You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of each child you add, or have their parent's or guardian's permission.
  • Children use Ottiwise through your account and under your supervision. You are responsible for their use of the service and for keeping your password secure.
  • Ottiwise is designed for primary school students in Singapore (P3–P6) preparing for the PSLE.

What Ottiwise provides

Ottiwise provides:

  • daily practice plans, original questions and explanations;
  • AI-assisted marking and feedback;
  • spaced review, a mistake notebook, games and rewards;
  • reports for parents.

We may add, change or remove features as the service develops. Ottiwise is currently in an early pilot, and some features may change significantly.

Learning outcomes and AI

  • Ottiwise is a learning aid. It does not replace school or teachers, and we do not guarantee any particular result, mark or PSLE score.
  • AI marking, hints and feedback can be wrong. Marks the AI is unsure of are flagged, and you can review and change any mark.
  • Estimated Achievement Level ranges are rough indications based on practice in Ottiwise. They are not predictions of PSLE results.
  • Ottiwise is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Ministry of Education (MOE) or the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB).

Acceptable use

You agree, and will make sure your child agrees, not to:

  • use Ottiwise for anything unlawful, harmful or abusive;
  • upload content that is not your child's own learning work, or that contains other people's personal information;
  • try to get around daily limits, access other accounts, or disrupt or reverse-engineer the service;
  • copy, resell or redistribute Ottiwise's questions, explanations or other content.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Your content

Your child's answers, compositions, photos and recordings remain yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide and improve Ottiwise, as described in the Privacy Policy, including sending them to our service providers for marking and transcription.

Our content

Ottiwise's questions, explanations, stories, designs, characters (including Otti and Pip) and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only for your child's personal learning through Ottiwise.

Fees

Ottiwise is currently free during the pilot. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you the price and terms before you are charged, and you can choose whether to continue.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or end the service, or your account, with reasonable notice where possible. If we end the service entirely, we will give you a reasonable chance to export or delete your data.

Availability and liability

  • We work to keep Ottiwise available and accurate, but it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
  • To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on AI marking or estimates.
  • Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (currently nothing during the free pilot).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Singapore law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Ottiwise develops. We will change the date above, and for significant changes we will tell you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Ottiwise after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction.
